Neo’s broad experience in schools and as a fundraiser in both the United States and Africa brings a unique and multi-dimensional perspective to the ASSIST Board and as a member of the Development Committee. Neo previously served as the Director of Development at the Maru-a-Pula School in Gaborone, Botswana, overseeing the school’s 50th-anniversary celebration in 2022. Originally from Botswana, Neo graduated from Maru-a-Pula before attending The Hill School in Pennsylvania for a post-graduate year. She then attended Williams College, graduating with a B.A. in History & Political Science with an International Relations concentration. Following college, Neo worked in New York City before returning to Botswana to work at Maru-a-Pula as a History teacher and then as the school’s Director of Development. Today, Neo is the Founder and Lead Consultant of Neela Consulting Services, where she advises companies and nonprofit organizations on social impact strategy.
