New Staff Spotlight: Denisa Maková
New, In-Country Program Coordinator for ASSIST Scholars and HMC Projects in the Czech Republic
ASSIST Scholars and HMC Projects are thrilled to welcome Denisa Maková as our new shared Program Coordinator for the Czech Republic! Denisa comes to us through our Czech partner organization, The Bakala Foundation, which was established in 2007 to support young talented people on their way to quality education through scholarships and programs that promote freedom, democracy, human rights, and independent journalism.
Denisa has an MA degree in Public and Social Policy Studies from Charles University and has extensive experience with coordinating scholarship programs, namely working for the Czech NGO Romea coordinating a scholarship program for students from socially disadvantaged families from 2016 until 2018 and on a similar project for the Albatros Foundation since 2021. In addition to her NGO work, Denisa has worked as a Resident Assistant for NYU Prague. Denisa has also worked as a human resources consultant for the Czech Academy of Sciences and well as in the private sector.
We believe Denisa will be a wonderful asset toward our education access and cross-cultural exchange work in the Czech Republic as the Country Coordinator for ASSIST and HMC Projects.
