Application Process for 2026/27 Scholarships

We are primarily seeking students for placement in U.S. Grades 10 and 11. We also have a limited number of opportunities for exceptionally strong applicants interested in Grade 12 or postgraduate positions.

The application for the 2026-27 school year is open. Follow the steps below to apply:

  1. Complete the online application and submit a copy of your academic transcript via the ASSIST application portal by November 21. A $35 U.S. application fee is required to submit your application.
  2. Scholarship Finalists must submit three teacher recommendations, informal photos, and a short statement from a parent or guardian in the same application portal as soon as possible, but no later than December 15.
  3. Scholarship Finalists will be invited to an interview and, if they are not native English speakers, will be required to take the Duolingo English Test.

Interviews and English Language Testing

Scholarship Finalists will be invited to an interview and asked to complete a Duolingo English Test.

The Duolingo English Test costs $70 USD and must be completed by December 1. If this cost is a financial hardship, please contact Christine Klingler at christine@assistscholars.org.

Interviews for Austrian candidates will be held in Vienna in December. A team from the U.S. will interview students in small groups. The interview is fairly informal and is a chance for us to get to know applicants better and help find the right school for each.

The Admission Committee makes scholarship decisions in January and February and will inform every applicant of the outcome.

We wish you luck and hope to meet you. If you have any questions, contact Austrian Program Coordinator, Christine Klingler, at christine@assistscholars.org
